Red Dead Redemption 2, The Witcher 3, Horizon Zero Dawn, Skyrim, and Grand Theft Auto V. Let’s talk about how long it takes to complete each of them: 60 hours, 100 hours, 25 hours, 70 hours, and 30 hours respectively. That’s a lot of time, especially for busy adults who have other responsibilities in their lives.

As someone who works full time, is a husband, a father, and stays active, I understand the value of relaxation and entertainment. However, I simply don’t have the time to devote 30+ hours to one single game. Most of us are adults, and according to Satista.com, 76% of people playing games are adults, at least 18 years or older. We have other responsibilities, and time is a precious commodity.

There are too many games to play these days. We have big AAA titles as well as indie titles, and more and more indie developers are releasing games every day. Every year sees an increase in the number of games being released. In 2022, according to Statista, 10,963 games were released on Steam alone.

However, quantity is not the same as quality. Many of these long games are padded with filler content. Grinding is something I did as a kid because it made the game easier, not because it was fun. Removing the filler from most single player games would result in a concise, high quality experience.

For those who want infinite content, there are multiplayer games and procedurally generated games. However, for those of us who want a solid, single player experience, it’s not necessary to give us 50 hours for that game.

As a kid, I was disappointed in how short Metal Gear Solid was because I had lots of free time, multiplayer gaming wasn’t a thing on consoles yet, and I didn’t have money to spend on new games. These days, I barely have time to play games. It’s hard to play Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, which takes 45 hours just for the main story.

At Sabr Path, we understand that you likely have a life, and we want you to live your life. We believe in making games that will maximize your entertainment in limited time. Beware, our upcoming game, is a 2D platformer inspired by classics like Donkey Kong Country and Celeste. It’s story-driven, takes place in cyberspace, and it won’t over stay it’s visit with repetitive gameplay. We believe that less is more, and that shorter games can be just as impactful and enjoyable as longer ones.

So, if you’re a busy adult who loves gaming but struggles to find time for it, we encourage you to add Beware to your wishlist on Steam. It’s the perfect game for those who want a high-quality, immersive experience without sacrificing their other responsibilities.
